I love writing. I love creating content that informs, engages & inspires.

I love observing, digging & sifting until I find that key trait that makes a person or organization unique — and then building narratives around it.

Journalism was Phase I of my career. I worked as a staff writer for a regional daily newspaper in suburban Chicago, covering (at different times) local news, features, and entertainment. The experience taught me how to see with a nuanced eye, how to work under deadlines. how to connect with a broad audience. 

For Phase II, I moved to communications, creating content and marketing strategies for independent private schools in Chicago. In these roles, I've learned how to package content in different platforms and develop brand messages that sing. I've learned how to capture different institutional voices and write for separate audiences.

I can't wait to see what Phase III might be!
